Memorial Health president and CEO Maggie Gill Margaret has vast experience working in the healthcare industry. She has been working in healthcare facilities all over the southeastern United States for over two decades. After earning her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University, her MBA from Saint Leo University in Florida and completing management and strategic thinking course work under the auspices of the Wharton School, Gill set out to make a difference in the healthcare industry. She had the tools, training and desire to improve the effectiveness of any healthcare facility or organization.
Gill’s first foray into a career in finance, business and healthcare came a few months after she graduated from Florida State in 1993. Gill accepted the position as chief financial officer at Tenet Healthcare in 1994 and by the time she left the position 10 years later in 2004, she had established herself as a talented, highly-skilled CFO. Her work was so well respected in the industry that she won the Outstanding CFO award for three years straight in 2001, 2002 and 2003. Even with her growing list of accolades Maggie Gill continued to seek out opportunities to learn, serve and grow.
During the years she spent as the Tenet South Florida Health system CFO Gill had the opportunity to work with many facilities within the system. She was able to spend time improving the financial systems at Hialeah, Florida based Palmetto General Hospital. She also did work for North Shore Medical Center which is located in Miami and Coral Gables Hospital located in Coral Gables, Florida. At all these healthcare facilities Gill was able to use her impressive array of financial and management skills to leave them in a much better position than she found them.
Maggie Gill’s work impressed the decision makers at Memorial University Medical Center in Savanah, Georgia. In 2004 the facility hired her as vice president in charge of finance and managed care. The next year they promoted her to COO. In 2011 Gill received yet another promotion. This time she was made president and CEO of Memorial Health. The position put her in charge of all MUMC’s vice presidents and physician leaders.
At MUMC Maggie Gill is directly responsible for government and physician relations, internal audits, corporate communications, financial assistance, the orthopedic and neuroscience programs, Memorial Health University Physicians, the Heart & Vascular Institute, as well as perioperative and trauma services.
